Apple has said it’s going to roll out an update that stops people from deliberately rendering their iOS devices useless by setting the time and date back to a specific point.

The problem hit headlines last week and despite plenty of people saying that setting your time and date to May, 1970 or earlier ruins your phone, plenty more went ahead and did it anyway.

A new era of tech events has begun

We’re back in New York this November for the 4th edition of our growth-focused technology event.

There’s no definitive date on Apple’s support page for when the update will roll out, but just do your best to resist the temptation of deliberately breaking your phone until it does, eh.
