Magic Leap showed off a clip demonstrating the capabilities of its augmented reality technology at the WSJD Live conference today, and it’s brilliant.
The Google-funded company claims the demo was shot directly through its headset without special effects. You can see a little floating robot as well as a model solar system hovering in the air in an office space.
New York, meet the world’s tech scene
5,000 Tech leaders are coming to NYC this November to learn and do business. This is your chance to join them.
When it launches, Magic Leap’s AR headset will go head-to-head against Microsoft’s HoloLens, which is slated for a 2020 public release. However, Magic Leap hasn’t said when that might be and it’s kept details about its hardware fairly hush-hush, so you may want to hold off betting on who will win the AR battle.
If this demo is anything to go by, there’s a lot to be excited about in the field of augmented reality.
